Card of the Day - Ysera the Dreamer


Today as mentioned in the previous post I will be looking at Ysera the Dreamer. She comes from the Worldbreaker set and is the best Master Hero from the set, although, the competition being Alexstraza the bar isn't set very high. Ysera is remarkably easy to get out considering that by around turn 10 you could theoretically have her out. From my perspective Ysera isn't the card that is going to win the game for you, however she is not useless. Her first ability mend 3 has the potential to either stall your opponent or make it so you can heal all damage taken during the match. It also works great in a new mend rejuvenation deck that druids seem to be able to make since you deal damage for every point healed. Her other ability is alright, drawing a card is good to have, but once again she seems to be more for a fun deck. She does have a lot of potential to be used in a competitive deck such as the druid rejuvenation. Overall Ysera has her uses but I would still rather have Illidan or Kel Thuzad except for in a very specialized deck like the one I mentioned. Tomorrow I will be looking at kel thuzad to show you why he is so good compared to the cards listed thus far.

    Don't play much Magic but these seems like it would be a pretty handy card to have, thanks for the card review

    nice card, i played magic a few years ago but i play wow, is the card game conected with wow?

    The card game has what are called loot cards that give you in game items. Loot cards however are extremely rare. most of the cards are tkaen from places quests or npcs in the game itself though

    @Steven Duncan I have tried other card games. I didn't mind MTG the only reason I decided to play WoW TCG over magic was that I play the mmo. So its not that I don't like magic I just know more about WoW.

    @NoMoreTrouble It's never too late to start, just gotta find a place to start playing and they will normally have a schedule of events. Hope that helps!

    I've never followed the WoW trading card-game series. I have always been interested in it though. Anyone have some opinions on how it compares to MTG or other similar games?

    @Aesop It is very similar, the only differences are that in mtg you declare an attack with everything you wish to attack with then your opponent decides who takes what damage. Where as wow you declare one attack at a time and you choose who each card attacks. The only way your opponent can choose the target is if they have a protector.

    It seems to be a fairly useful card that could work in a large variety of decks.

    New to your blog, but I used to play WoW obsessively and nobody ever quits, they just take a break. Followed.

    I think I'll try the trading card game sometime.

    Good tip, but the way I win employers over is with my cover letter. My resume pretty much speaks for itself, since I was managing a cell phone store at the age of 18... they don't need to know i just sat around drinking though.
